They are dangerous to man and beast and I am looking for information on how to fill them in, with what do I fill them and how do I know I got to the end of the hole so it doesn’t cave in on someone. If anyone has an answer I would love to hear it. Thank You. Marsha L. Benjamin Answer: In reply to Marsha B.'s question about filling in stump holes, I would pour them full of a soupy mixture of sand, dirt, and water. Perhaps partially fill them a little more each day, or perhaps fill them quite full and then vibrate the soup with a tamper of some kind to burp out air bubbles. By soupy I mean too thin to shovel; maybe the consistency of paint. I stepped into a root/stump hole on the Black Tiger fire way back when so I know what the hazard is. I was amazed that the stump burned all the way out to the tips of the roots. Jon Bell |
